USP OF THE CONFERENCE
The conference is expected to give deep insights into how the corporate sector views the issue of disaster management. The programme schedule makes special emphasis to involve the corporate sector in every aspect of disaster management. They will also be encouraged to organise sessions and discuss their own preparedness to tackle emergencies, their core strengths, their on and off site plans, their resource management, their response to major national/ international calamities and their plans for the future to inculcate the emergency management mechanisms in their business planning to help the vulnerable community.
The conference will initiate discussions for certain key documents which will help in the process of their development. These include a diary of “Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)” for Corporate Executives on disaster preparedness and response, Guidelines and Checklist for CEOs and a Corporate-Community Interface Handbook on Disaster and Environmental Management. The conference will launch a framework for the Platform for Public-Private Partnership (P4PPP) and conclude with ‘Mumbai Declaration 2005' that will clear the road ahead that needs to be traversed.
